Livery at Spring Head Farm

We offer DIY Livery which includes a stable, an individual paddock (weather depending), haylage and use of the outdoor arena and indoor turnout area, a saddle and bridle rack in the alarmed tack room and a small area for feed bins and rugs. We also provide straw should that be your choice of bedding. Services can be provided for example feeding, turnout, bring in for a small price. Also short term full livery whilst the owner is on holiday.

The paddocks are kept in good condition by our liveries who poo pick them daily to keep them fresh and clean for their horses. Annually they are fertilised, harrowed, rolled and the weeds are managed by spraying where needed.

We run an efficient worming programme where horses are wormed in the spring and autumn covering all the worms especially tapeworm and annually the encysted red worms are managed. A few weeks following the worming we do a worm count to ensure the wormer has worked for that horse. Most worms counts do come back clear and this is down to the dedication of our liveries keeping their paddocks nice and clean!

The hacking from the yard is onto and quiet country lane that can be seen in the photos, perfect if you're starting a youngster. All our liveries hack out so there is always someone you can arrange to hack with. There are some nice loops and a few bridleways that are a short ride away.

The stables vary in size due to availability ranging from 10.5ft x 11.5ft to 15ft x 18ft. All 'stables' have rubber matting floor. We have an indoor sand turnout area allowing horses to let off some steam and have a roll! This is especially popular during the winter months.

Our large outdoor arena measures 60m x 30m, is floodlit and well drained comprising of a sand and rubber surface, a wash down area and we are also lucky enough to have an undercover Claydon 5 horse walker.
